Neely Gaddy Beaugez, DVM, Owner
Dr. Neely Gaddy Beaugez first joined the staff at Handsboro Animal Hospital in 2016 as a veterinary technician working during school breaks while attending veterinary school. Dr. Gaddy received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in General Medicine from St. George's University on the Caribbean island of Grenada, West Indies in 2021. She then completed her clinical year at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. After earning her DVM and completing her post graduate work, she returned to Handsboro Animal Hospital as an associate veterinarian. In February of 2023, after 1.5 years at the practice, Dr. Gaddy purchased the clinic from Dr. Williams. She has been the sole veterinarian and owner since that time.
Dr. Gaddy has a passion for dermatology and preventative medicine. She has a special interest in the treatment and management of arthritic patients. Previously, Dr. Gaddy has been nominated for the “most successful woman to watch,” and Handsboro Animal Hospital will be the only veterinary clinic represented in the 2025 issue of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Scout Guide.
Dr. Gaddy married her high school sweetheart of eleven years, Nicco Beaugez, in April 2022 . They have three dogs, Bausten, a 13 year old American Staffordshire terrier, a 12 year old Boxer named Jinxx, and a 1 year old golden retriever named Fig. They also share two cats, one of which is an island-cat that Dr. Gaddy brought home from the Caribbean, named Mace. Their other cat, Lumi, is a snow Bengal that was born with a cleft palate and was adopted from Oklahoma.
In her spare time, Dr. Gaddy enjoys playing competitive tennis and world traveling. She also enjoys photography and spending time with her large family here on the Gulf Coast. Dr. Gaddy thoroughly enjoys teaching, and she often hosts young shadows at the clinic to encourage their interest in the field. At least once a year, she travels to local elementary schools to try to spark interest in the young students to consider becoming veterinarians in their future.
A fun fact about Dr. Gaddy is that while studying medicine in the Caribbean, she helped deliver eggs from a leatherback sea turtle, moved the eggs to safety, and then protected them from poachers on the beach overnight.
